Smokey

McKenzie came home and layed on the floor with Smokey.

Michael and Austen and Mariyah spent the day with him.

This was Smokey when he was a couple of months old and Mikey was Sixteen months.

Tonight I sit here with tears in my eyes as I do this post. Our dog Smokey had to be put to sleep tonight. We have had him for 12 and half years, we got him when Mikey was one year old. He was Mikeys dog but also all of ours. I have to tell you I have had lots of dogs in my life and had to have them all put to sleep when the time came but seeing my children tonight was definitely harder. I felt like my heart was breaking. Mikey and Michael dug a grave for him in our back yard and when we got back from the Vet my Mikey with his Uncle Karl and his Dad buried him. Then we said a prayer and put him to rest. It was very hard but I know that he is not in any pain anymore and we will see him again. We loved him very much, he was a great dog and will definitely be missed. We love you Smoke Dog!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!

Gabriel James Redhouse 7lbs. 10 oz. 21 in.

He is so beautiful and perfect.

Well what did you all do for New Years I bet mine was better. I got to be with my sister when she had my nephew. My mom and I left on Tuesday the 30th and she was in labor until New Years Eve when she finally had him at 11:04. It was a long hard labor that ended with a C-Section but I will let her tell everyone the story. But I want her to know she was AWESOME!!! I missed spending it with my husband and my kids but see my nephew come into this world was amazing. Everyone at the hospital kept asking are you trying for a New Years baby and we just kept saying heck no they want the tax deduction. Gabe was the thousandth baby born at that hospital this year so he did get that acolade. Here are a couple of pics of the handsome little guy. Thanks Sis for letting me be a part of this wonderful time in your life.

Christmas Morning

I love Christmas, I love the decorations, the tree especially. This year we got a beautiful tree and we didn't even know what it looked like. I was all bound up in twine and Michael had gone to get a tree three different times. We usually go together as a family but the girls were gone on their cruise and we waited for them, then it rained and I just told Michael to go get one. Well as I said he tried three times and finally I just said I don't care what it looks like I just want a tree. Well Austen was with him and he was touching the trees and he said "Dad this is the one" so they bought it (for twenty bucks) and brought it home. Michael took off the twine and stood it up and it was perfect. It made the house smell so good. I love Christmas trees especially real ones.We got a great surprise Christmas Eve my sister Elisa and her husband James drove down and I was so happy I cried. They weren't going to come down so close to the baby being born but they did anyway and I was so happy they did. All the kids made out of like bandits but hopefully they stop and realize whats important about Christmas, I know its hard when you're a kid to stop and think about why we are getting presents but I sure hope they do. I know I have already said this in the previous post but I am so thankful for the Savior and his love for me. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Every year on Christmas Eve we have a family get together with my dad's side of the family. We have been doing this since I was born. We have always had it at my Grandparents house but about the last twelve years it has been other places. Well this year we had it at my grandmas house, my Aunt just bought it and I was so glad we had it there. Its just felt like coming home, when we drove up in front of the house I had tears in my eyes because I have so many great memories in this house. I loved being there with my family, with my grandparents both gone it really makes me feel close to them. I love celebrating Christmas with family it really makes Christmas what it is supposed to be. I am so thankful for my Savior and his sacrifice for me, that I can be with my family forever, what greater knowledge can one ask for. I hope everyone had a great Christmas I sure did.

Eric and Melinda's Christmas Party

So I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks so I guess I will catch up. We had a family party at my brother Eric's house on the twentieth of December and it was so much fun. Melinda and Eric worked really hard and put alot of time into it. Each family made Gingerbread houses and in true Cowboy Fan fashion my kids made a football field with football players and it was all cowboys (yes I know they didn't make the playoffs but we are still fans). Then we ate pizza and Santa came, the kids loved that. Then the adults played a game while the kids watched a movie and played games. Its always fun to spend time with family and for cousins to get to see each other. I love having a big family. Thanks Eric and Melinda it was lots of fun.
